heritage-florida-jewish-newsJewish National Fund will honor four community leaders at an award dinner in Orlando at its annual dinner on Thursday, Dec. 3. Rabbi Rudolph and Rose Adler will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Deborah C. German, dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Central Florida, and Rasesh Thakkar, senior managing director of Tavistock Group, will receive JNF’s Tree of Life Award.

The dinner will be held at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando from 6 – 9 p.m.

The Tree of Life Award is a humanitarian award given in recognition of outstanding community involvement, dedication to the cause of American-Israeli friendship, and devotion to peace and the security of human life. It honors leaders for their achievements and innovations in industry, government, and education.

Rabbi Rudolph J. Adler and his wife, Rose, came to Orlando from Cleveland, Ohio in 1960 to serve the Orlando Jewish community. Mishna Avot teaches that the world stands on three things: Torah, religious service, and acts of lovingkindness. These are the three activities that have occupied the lives of Rabbi and Rose Adler.
